Minority Access, Inc., is no newcomer as an advocate of diversity. Assisting colleges and universities to diversify their campuses and worksites is explicitly stated as its primary mission in its incorporating charter as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1995.
Minority Access, Inc., applauds the colleges and universities listed for their commitment to diversity. They are enriching the lives of their students and concomitantly contributing to the strength of our nation. They all stress that diversity is essential — indispensable — to providing a good education to anyone who expects to live and work in the United States or anyplace where they will work with, buy from, sell to, serve, or live with a diverse population.

The National Role Models Project introduces a fresh approach to an established strategy. Instead of solely recognizing celebrities from sports and entertainment as role models, Minority Access Inc., honors exceptional students, faculty, alumni, innovators, and diverse institutions. By expanding the pool of minority scientists, researchers, and professionals in underrepresented fields, we contribute to the nation's strength. The impact of the program extends beyond the recognition of high achievers, addressing the need to replenish research, science, and technology positions vacated by a retiring workforce.
Distinguished Role Model honorees are assembled, not for self-adulation, but rather as a part of a well-designed developmental strategy. The White House Office of Science and Technology emphasizes the importance of increasing the flow of young people, including minorities, into the sciences to sustain America's technological growth. The National Institutes of Health stresses the need for relevant researchers to reduce health disparities affecting minorities. NASA highlights the necessity of attracting undergraduates, including minorities, to research areas aligned with its missions. The U.S. Coast Guard aims to diversify its cadet population while maintaining rigorous standards in technical fields.
Minority Access, Inc., believes that showcasing real, believable role models to its network of high-performing young individuals can inspire and guide them towards rewarding careers in research, science, health, engineering, and technology.
This concept draws inspiration from the successful strategy employed in the entertainment and sports industries, where exposure to high-profile individuals as role models ignites a desire to emulate their achievements. Unlike fields where only a few become stars, the potential for success in research, science, health, engineering, and technology careers is abundant.
The Minority Access Educational Talent Search (ETS) Program, administered by Minority Access Inc., and funded by the US Department of Education, is a college readiness program specifically designed for students in grades 6 through 12 in targeted schools in Prince George's County, Maryland. ETS aims to support students who possess the desire and potential for success in post-secondary education. By working in collaboration with our school partners and their guidance departments, ETS complements the existing college-preparatory education services provided to promising students.
At Minority Access, Inc., the mission of ETS is twofold: to increase the likelihood of participants becoming highly competitive high school graduates and to facilitate their enrollment and graduation from institutions of higher education, including colleges, universities, and trade schools.
Our approach involves engaging students in a range of professional, relevant, and consistent academic coaching activities. We provide workshops on financial aid and pre-college preparation, organize field trips and college visits, and offer scheduled seminar activities. Through these program services, ETS prepares students to take charge of their academic achievements, thereby increasing their chances of enjoying a lifelong career and a more satisfying quality of life.
ETS expects participants to enroll in a rigorous academic program at their respective schools and complete a pre-college curriculum during their high school years. Following graduation, the program encourages students to pursue enrollment in a post-secondary institution, thereby continuing their educational journey.

Participants have the opportunity to engage with university administrators, faculty, students, government officials, and other individuals who provide valuable insights into the host country's practices and history. These interactions often lay the groundwork for establishing international collaborations, such as student and faculty exchange programs, scholarships, internships, research initiatives, and resolutions to domestic and global issues.
As part of the international seminar, participants enjoy luxurious five-star hotel accommodations, exquisite dining experiences, and guided tours of national landmarks. While personal expenses are not covered, one representative from a premier associate attends the seminar for free, while other guests can participate at a discounted rate.
